Remembry — Privacy Policy

Remembry ("Remembry", "we", "us") is a home‑inventory app that helps you catalog what you own, get reminders for maintenance and renewals, and optionally lend and borrow items with nearby neighbors. This policy explains what information the app collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions? Email support@remembry.xyz.

Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account we collect your email address, your display name, and an identifier from your sign‑in provider (for example Google or Apple). We use a trusted authentication provider (Google Firebase) and do not store your password ourselves.

Content you add

The information you enter to build your inventory — item names, descriptions, categories, quantities, estimated values, purchase and warranty details, the rooms or containers items live in, tags and notes, maintenance/service records, and lists such as groceries. This content is stored so the app can show it back to you across your devices.

Photos and receipts

Photos you attach to items and any receipt images you upload are stored securely on our behalf by Google Firebase Storage. They are visible to you and to members of any home you choose to share with. If you lend an item, the pickup and return condition photos taken during the handoff are also visible to the other party to that loan, as a shared record.

Approximate location (only for neighborhood lending)

If — and only if — you choose to use the neighborhood lending feature, you set an approximate area on a map. That point is immediately coarsened to a low‑precision grid cell (roughly a 5 km square) before it is stored. We never store your precise GPS coordinates or street address, and lending is entirely optional.

Purchases and subscriptions

If you buy Premium, the purchase is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play and managed through our billing provider (RevenueCat). We receive your subscription status (for example, active or expired) so we can unlock features. We do not receive or store your full payment‑card details.

Device and diagnostic data

To deliver reminders and notifications we store a push‑notification token for your device. We may also collect basic diagnostic and crash information to keep the app working reliably.

How we use your information

• To provide the app and sync your inventory across your devices.
• To send reminders and notifications you ask for (maintenance, renewals, loan due‑dates, household invites).
• To power AI‑assisted entry — turning a voice list, barcode, or photo into structured items (see below).
• To match and display neighborhood lending listings near you, if you opt in.
• To process purchases and manage your Premium access.
• To respond to support requests and to keep the service secure.

AI‑assisted features

When you use voice add, barcode scanning, photo recognition, or the AI‑generated packing list, the relevant input — such as a spoken list, an item photo, a barcode/ISBN, or a trip destination and dates — is sent to service providers to return a result: our AI provider (Anthropic) to recognize and organize items; catalog lookup services (such as Open Library for books and Discogs for music) to fetch product details; and a weather service (Open‑Meteo) to fetch a forecast for the destination and dates you enter for a trip. This data is processed to provide the feature and returned to you; it is not used to build advertising profiles. (The college/university name suggestions come from a list bundled inside the app, so nothing you type there is sent anywhere.)

How your information is shared

• People you share a home with. If you invite others into a home — whether a household or a free shared space with a roommate — they can see and add to that home's inventory, and your display name appears on the items you contribute.
• Friends you connect with. You can connect with friends by email invitation. Once you both accept, you can see each other's shareable listings and first name, and lend to one another at any distance. Your email address is shared with a person only when you invite them or accept their invitation.
• Neighbors (only if you list an item). When you make an item lendable, nearby users can see its name, type, photo, and approximate area (the coarse grid cell above) so they can request to borrow it. Your exact location and identity beyond what you choose to share are not revealed. When you approve a request, the contact method you chose (such as a phone number or email) is shared with that borrower so you can arrange a handoff, and theirs with you. If you opt in to the neighborhood scoreboard — which is off by default — your first name and lend count are shown to others in your area.
• Service providers. We use trusted providers to run the app: Google Firebase (authentication, database, file storage, cloud functions, notifications), Anthropic (AI features), RevenueCat and the Apple App Store / Google Play (purchases), and catalog lookup services (product and book details). They process data only to provide these services to us.
• Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third‑party advertising.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is kept while your account is active. Items you delete are moved to Trash and can be restored for 30 days, after which they are permanently removed. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing support@remembry.xyz; we will remove your personal data except where we are required to retain it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and protected by access rules so that only you — and people you invite into a shared home — can reach your inventory. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry‑standard safeguards.

Children

Remembry is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. You can edit or delete most content directly in the app, and you can reach us at support@remembry.xyz for any request.

International users

The app runs on Google Cloud / Firebase infrastructure, and your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, provide a notice in the app.
