How Remembry compares, side by side.
Most people looking for a home inventory app are doing it for one reason: if there were a fire, a flood or a burglary tomorrow, they could not list what they owned. Here is how Remembry stacks up against the apps you are probably also looking at.
Checked against each app's own description of itself, 16 September 2026. Two apps that used to be on lists like this have closed: Encircle ended its free home inventory in December 2025 and Centriq shut in January 2025 — if you are coming from either, there is a page for you: Encircle · Centriq.
What actually matters in a home inventory
Insurers and consumer guides broadly agree on the list: for each item you want the brand, model, serial number, quantity, what you paid, a description and photographs — stored somewhere that is not inside the house that might burn down. Everything below is measured against that.

A dash means the feature is not part of how that app publicly describes itself — not that it is impossible there. These apps are actively developed and things change; check for yourself before you decide. If we have something wrong, tell us and we will fix it.
The other apps, fairly
Each of these is good at the thing it leads with, and each charges for it. The short version of our pitch is that Remembry's free plan — 100 items, 20 AI scans a month, and a 150-scan week for a new home — already does most of it, and then keeps being useful after the cataloguing is done. Prices are what each app published in September 2026.
Bevel
A strong scanner that turns photos and video into items with cost estimates, built for people documenting a loss. $60 a year, no free tier. Remembry matches it on photo scanning and serial capture, and records a walkthrough video on each room, though video is kept as documentation rather than scanned into items; values are yours to set rather than guessed.
InventAI
Talk instead of type — a genuinely faster way to clear a room — and it works fully offline, then syncs. If you want an inventory that never leaves the phone, look here first; Remembry's is stored in the cloud so a household can share it.
HomeZada
The strongest maintenance calendar in the category, plus projects and finances, at $65–$99 a year with no free tier. Remembry's reminders — warranties, servicing, renewals, gear that wears out by use — are free.
HouseBook
A calm interface with proper rooms and containers, built around entering things yourself. Pick it if you actively prefer typing to being guessed at.
What we think makes Remembry different
Cataloguing is the part everyone quits. Photograph an item and we read the model and serial straight off the rating plate and file it into the right room and box — or say it out loud while you are standing in the garage, or photograph a whole shelf of books or records and every spine is read. Whichever is quickest that minute.
An inventory nobody updates is wrong within a year. So Remembry does not stop at the list. Every date your home owes you lands in one place: subscription renewals before they charge, appliance servicing, filter changes, warranties before cover ends, and gear that wears out by use rather than by date — running shoes at 400 miles, a helmet at five years — counted from how often you actually use it.
The report is the point. When something goes wrong you can generate an insurance-ready PDF of the whole house, room by room, with photos and values — or a single ownership record for one item, with photographs, serial number, receipt and a tamper-evident fingerprint. That is the packet a claim, a police report or a buyer actually asks for.
And your data is never held hostage: full CSV export and a complete photo backup are free, forever, whether or not you ever pay us anything.
Could you list everything you own — from memory?
After a fire or a burglary, that's exactly what your insurer asks you to do. Most people who finally inventory their home discover they would have undervalued their belongings by thousands. Twenty minutes of scanning is the cheapest insurance upgrade you'll ever make.
